Check out what mom had to say about Aubrey's progress, "Because of Drew my daughter is opening up to trying new food and less melt downs at mealtime." |
"'The sweetest Em. I rarely-and I mean rarely-take her into a store. Can we say SENSORY OVERLOAD? But l've learned that setting super clear expectations helps, like: "You'll ride in the big part of the buggy, and you can pick one thing." She did amazing! She only whined once, asking me to hold her. I reminded her of the deal and added, "I can't grab my items if my hands are full." First, she grabbed shoes for $12, then a Claire's purse for $16, and after some serious deliberation, she finally chose this baby doll... for $35! I didn't catch her full squeal on camera, but trust me, she was thrilled!" - Casey Bowman
When Kala's mom asked her what she was most grateful for, she said, “the friendships I’ve made.” Her mom shared how Launch has been a blessing, helping Kala connect, share her interests, and thrive through therapy, social groups, and camps. |
"I'm so grateful to Launch and his physical therapists, Katie and Courtlyn, that have encouraged Levi to be excited about exploring and being curious! He has made strides in doing things we thought he may not do for a long time!" -Levi's Mom |
A few words from Ava's mom: "I just wanted to reach out to send much Thanksgiving and Gratitude to everyone at launch. Our family circle is now very small. My daughter lost much of her supportive village in the midst of the pandemic, leaving her with no grandparents. With minimal family and friends in the area birthday celebrations are challenging for us because while we want to celebrate our sweet daughter, the guest list has sadly dwindled. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Launch, our sweet daughter Ava was able to celebrate her fourth birthday with her classmates and have a joy filled day complete with cupcakes and gifts. We are ever so grateful to the preschool director Ms. Keeny, her teacher Ms. Taylor and all the staff for all you do everyday to make these little ones feel special. She has had a wonderful preschool experience." |
Some words from mom, "I'm so grateful for launch my son will now eat broccoli and it's been a huge struggle, he's 3 and I recently started about 6 months ago and finally accomplished the mission thanks to launch on 11-8-24" |
Words from the family: "The Dinwiddie Family is VERY thankful for all the services received by Jonah and Matthew. Matthew has made great progress socially and is working towards BIG goals with the help of Katie and Lauren in PT and Speech. They have shown such patience and love to Matthew, and we are forever grateful for them. We are excited to see what 2025 will bring for him. Jonah started seeing Lauren for speech/feeding therapy after having severe issues gaining weight and holding down feedings. Lauren gave mom and dad so much hope for Jonahs’s weight gain and progress. While his therapy with Lauren is coming to a close(no longer needed) we will forever hold her in our hearts. She made such a hectic and scary time in our life manageable." |
Joseph was chosen as a recipient of a 2025 Yes I Can Award for Academics at the national level! A few words from Jo Jo's mom: "Tonight is one of those nights I go to sleep in just awe of God's plan for our children, it was much bigger and better than I could ever imagine. Joseph was nominated by his teacher for the "Yes I Can" award which is an award that recognizes outstanding achievements of children with exceptionalities. His portfolio was submitted in the area of Academics and if you just knew a 10th of Josephs story this may shock you. This kid was dealt one of the most sour lemons and made the sweetest lemonade to share with everyone. He went on to win out of 21 other students in his category of Academic across the parish. Out of the 5 category winners, Joseph and one other student were selected by Livingston Parish to go on and compete at the National level! He is walking away with three awards tonight, not because he has the highest academics but because he was able to show that through all of the things in life and statistics that say he can't, he wakes up every single day and says "Yes I Can." Long before Joseph was our son, tragedy struck and Joseph was involved in a motor vehicle accident that he should have never walked away from. Quite literally he was called home three times but God sent him back to have a bigger purpose. This accident left Joseph with a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and a list of many other diagnoses that when he wakes up every single day he is many steps behind a neurotypical child. For many years I was angry, and broken, watching Joseph struggle to have surgery after surgery, and being diagnosed with another disability that made life harder for him. Then a wise lady told me to just focus on making sure he was kind and the rest would fall into place. Then I was binge-watching Waco on Netflix a few years ago and I have never in my life related more to a clip about how my child with disabilities is the greatest gift I have ever known, Joseph turned my eyes to God. At such a young age he already has a purpose, encouraging others that if he can, so can you. He also showed me mine, being an advocate for children. If he can wake up every day in a great mood, so can I. Nothing about our family is normal, we talk often with our children all the time about how amazing it is to be different, keeping us fun, and how boring would our life be if we were society's "normal." Watching Joseph go on stage tonight was a reminder that I needed to not sweat the small things, and focus on him being kind, the rest had already fallen into place. Joseph winning was also him winning for every kid that doesn't fit the "mold" for every parent who cried filling out a milestone chart at the doctor, every physical therapy appointment, occupational appointment, speech appointment, specialist, IEP, that small 1% better every day is a win. Some days you may have a hundred steps backward but you celebrate the one step forward. Joseph's success was largely attributed to all of those in his corner who have cheered for him and treated him no different than anyone else, just another child. Our hopes and dreams are for Joseph to accomplish whatever he puts his mind to, he may require modifications getting there, but he will get there in his own time. We are so incredibly proud of Joseph and thankful for those who stand in his corner and cheer on those with exceptionalities like our JoJo, he wouldn't be where he is today without those in his corner." |
"Grayson has been with Launch for a little over a year and a half, and the progress he’s made is truly unbelievable! Diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome, which causes developmental delays and kept him from hitting certain milestones, Grayson was completely nonverbal before starting services. We weren’t sure if we’d ever hear him say, ‘I love you.’ After just six months at Launch, his speech soared, and now he communicates almost completely clearly with others. He has also hit all his physical milestones, keeping him right on track with his peers—something not all children with DiGeorge syndrome experience. The love and dedication of the therapists at Launch made this possible. Not only did they help us acquire the referrals and information we needed for Grayson’s diagnosis, but they also helped him become the best version of himself. They encouraged me to be a strong advocate and gave Grayson the confidence to thrive. We are so blessed to be part of the Launch family. Thank you! " |
